Introduction | I have been a teacher for over 30 years. I currently teach fourth grade (after spending several years teaching primary). I also work as a staff developer, consulting both locally and nationally. My classroom serves as a visitation/lab classroom. It is is featured in Thinking Strategies for Learners, a PEBC resource. I contributed to a PEBC position paper called From Surviving to Thriving: Strategies for Success in a High-Stakes Accountability System. I am the co-author (along with Lori Conrad, Missy Matthews, and Cheryl Zimmerman) of Put Thinking to the Test. My latest book is called Conferring: The Keystone of Reader's Workshop, published by Stenhouse Publishers. My wife, Susan, and I have four children (ages 18 to 29). I enjoy reading, writing, learning, and spending time with my family. |
