Introduction I am not good at distinguishing good ideas from terrible ones. For example, I when I was sixteen I decided that I wanted to sell chicken for a living, which seemed a fine step up from selling tacos. After much consideration on how I might achieve this dream, I applied to the KFC across the street. I was rejected so I continued to apply for the next two years. Eventually, I was offered a job. I soon discovered two draw backs to selling chicken: smelling like chicken and or the stray dogs that followed me home after work. Perhaps you are thinking this is a lesson about being careful what you wish for. It's not. Outside of the two drawbacks, serving chicken was indeed a fine occupation. I know that because didn't accept "no" the first, second or twentieth time. On the twenty-first try I got a bidding war between Taco Bell, Wendy's and KFC. Not only did I get the job I wanted, but a $2.00 an hour raise. These days, the only job I want is writer.
