Introduction | I have completed my degree in Computer and Information Technology at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). I enjoy playing around with the Ubuntu Linux distribution and I thoroughly enjoy trying to find ways around using Microsoft products. I began using Linux back in 2006 mainly due to the fact that I despise Microsoft. In the fall of 2006, partly due to my ignorance of computer technology at the time and partly due to a flaw in the MS Windows operating system, a Microsoft tool used to repair my computer caused my entire hard drive to be erased. I lost years worth of family photos, personal documents and the sort. I have spent the remainder of my time since then trying to find ways of avoiding the same scenario for others. In the fall of 2006, I also had the great opportunity to hear the great Richard Stallman speak on behalf of the Free Software Movement. I don't really believe in fate, but the combination of Richard Stallman's speak and the incident I had with Microsoft solidified my position in the computer technology world. |
