Introduction I've been married almost 12 years to a fantastic guy, who is lovingly referred to by our daughters as King Daddy. We share our home with our 3 little princesses, a cat (Zoey), a parrot (Tinkerbell), and a variety of saltwater creatures. Elise, our oldest daughter, is 9. Leah and Lily (the twins) are 7. Lily was born with several structural anomalies (tracheal, esophageal, cardiac, and intestinal), relating to Vacterl or VATER Syndrome. She was hospitalized for 6 months before coming home with a trach, which she had for 18 months. Lily has had numerous surgeries in her young life, but she's doing very well now. She still has some gross motor, speech, and reflex delays. She still gets sick more easily than the average kid. But we're very blessed that she gets to grow up and live a relatively normal life. I like to bake, try out vegan recipes, read, crochet, go camping, travel (when we can squeeze it into the budget), and spend time with my family, all while carrying the camera around my neck.
Interests Being with my family, spending time with friends, camping, hiking, baking, trying vegan recipes, reading, crocheting, photography, homeschooling
Favorite Movies Movies I could watch over and over again without ever getting tired of: Anne of Green Gables 1 & 2, Sound of Music, Dirty Dancing, 10 Things I Hate About You (My sister and I love to watch this), Girls Just Wanna Have Fun (another movie my sister and I love to watch when we get together), Once, but you have to get past the somewhat excessive use of the F-word first. The Nun's Story, with Audrey Hepburn. Young at Heart (a documentary), Easy A, Juno, Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist.
Favorite Music My musical tastes are very eclectic, but a few favorites are Cat Power, Brandi Carlisle, Patty Griffin, Bon Jovi, Weezer, Pat Benetar, Alison Krauss, Plain White T's, Norah Jones, Natalie Merchant, Swell Season, and Regina Spektor.
Favorite Books I figure I have enough drama in my life right now, so I usually read pretty lighthearted things. Here are a few of my past favorites: The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks, A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks, One True Thing by Anna Quindlen, Catch Me If You Can by Frank Abagnale Jr, and Joseph by Terri Fivash, anything by Sophie Kinsella

You forgot your mom's birthday! What can you make out of super glue and olive pits?

Something that would make her so high on fumes she wouldn't even realize I'd forgotten?? Maybe? Apparently I'm only good at MacGyver-ing leaky g-tube stomas, not birthday presents.
