Introduction	Hello! My name is Micky Jones, IBCLC, CLD, CD(DONA), and I teach childbirth classes, breastfeeding classes, and baby care classes. I'm an international board certified lactation consultant (IBCLC) and work as a doula, where I've attended home births, birth-center births, and hospital births. My breastfeeding clients include full-time pumping moms, breastfeeding moms with implants or reductions, breastfeeding moms of preemies, and moms who breastfeed for several years. I also work part-time with Lansinoh. I'm passionate about breastfeeding as a public health issue for all communities, but especially for the African-American community. I am equally passionate about empowering families for parenting by helping them gather information; learn to critically evaluate their options; and achieve a peaceful, family-centered birthing and postpartum period. My current focus is to help professionals embrace healthy authentic lifestyles. I have been married for over 15 years to a wonderful man, with whom I have three beautiful children. All three had non-medicated births, the last two at home, in water with a midwife. They were all breastfed and kept close for the early years.
