Introduction Since I was a child, I knew that books were my ticket to other worlds, my magic, and I’ve been in love with both reading and writing them ever since. Books take an individual to great destinations throughout their life. I write middle-grade and young adult fiction. I live in Colorado with my terrific teenage son. We share our home with a curious cat, Clouseau and a super silly schnauzer, Marley.

Favorite Music I like Muse, Airborne Toxic Event, 3Oh3!, The Avett Bros., John Mayer, David Gray, Susan Tedeschi, so many more.
Favorite Books I love juvenile literature right now. I have plenty of adult books that I like as well. Far too many to name here though.

If you were a pirate, how would you avoid laughing when saying 'poop deck'?

Who could possibly avoid laughing when they say poop deck? I'm sorry but I don't think I should have to avoid it. I think I should be able to laugh and whoever thinks that's a bad thing should have to walk the plank matey!
