| Introduction | The country known as the Netherlands was established as an independent nation with the publication of the Plakkaat van Verlatinghe (Oath of Abjuration; 1581). The principles established in this Plakkaat defined the relation between a government and it's people in a just and free country: Firstly, all power derives from the people; Secondly, power is delegated to rulers in order that they may serve the people; Thirdly, all important governmental acts require popular consultation and approval. This day and age there are many forces at play that are actively seeking to undermine those principles of self determination and personal freedom. Klein Verzet (Small Resistance) is dedicated to defending the principles laid out in the Plakkaat van Verlatinghe and exposing anything and anyone threatening them. |
