| Introduction | Kevin Groenhagen grew up 15 miles upstream from Ronald Reagan's hometown of Dixon, Illinois. After graduating from high school, he served as an intelligence analyst (0231) with the United States Marine Corps from 1982 to 1986. He later earned degrees in International Relations and Southeast Asian Studies from Northern Illinois University, and attended graduate school at the University of the Philippines' Asian Center.
