Introduction I have been a miniaturist since the early 80s. I was an art major in college. After that I taught myself all kinds of needlework and subsequently taught classes in shops. I have been designing in different fields for a long time and designing my own miniatures just came naturally. My work has been published in Nutshell News and other magazines. I worked for a few years restoring antique miniatures for Pat Arnell of the Mini Time Machine Museum here in Tucson. I did that until she literally ran out of room for more antique houses. She has built a new 15 thousand square foot mini museum now. The oldest house that I worked on was a Georgian style,English Baby House from 1775. That one was in the worst shape and took the longest to finish. English nannies used to hand the children a can of paint and a brush and tell them to paint the dollhouse to keep them amused. The 1775 house had 8 layers of paint that had to be removed one layer at a time! Now I am trying to pass along what I can to others that want to make their own miniatures. The blog is a way of doing this.
