Introduction My oils are done primarily on location wherever my travels take me and are an expression of mood and emotion manifested through the beauty of the landscape. A deep desire to partake in a dialogue with nature and a quest to infuse a moment of truth within the canvas is why I paint. This spontaneous process invigorates the work and is imbued with the spirit of nature created in communion with the wind and sunlight itself! I am energized by the struggle to work while being fully immersed in the elements and the sheer joy of responding to the rhythms of the landscape. Exercising intuition and intellect to record the graceful lines of trees, the rush of water, wind and warmth there is a sense of giving and receiving! While painting in the open air is my passion, I also enjoy constructing figurative (narrative) paintings and experimenting with the reed pen. With every subject and approach, I am energized by the way light reveals essence and form.
