Stitched With Prayer

About me

Gender Female
Location Utah, United States
Introduction I used to do all types of needle crafts including cross stitch, crochet, knitting, embroidery, etc. Then "life" happened and I was struggling to do the things I loved so much but required good feeling in my fingertips. Then I discovered quilting, especially piecing on a sewing machine, rather than by hand and felt like I had been given a wonderful gift. I have to do everything on my sewing machine including both sides of the binding but it works out well. I am still able to do some of the easier stitchery pieces and that lead me to a love of stitchery quilts. My mom always told me "When God closes a door, He opens a window". Quilting is the window he opened for me. Also the "Stitched With Prayer" ID, reminds me where my thoughts and heart should be in everything I do. Now if I could just learn to do my own quilting on my machine, I'd be a really happy gal!!!
Interests I love my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and pray that all I do and say reflects my love for Him. My favorite stress relief techniques are...Quilting, Stitchery, learning to Knit, Reading, Riding as a passenger on our Goldwing, with my best friend, my hubby, at the helm.
Favorite Movies Lonesome Dove, Open Range, Singing in the Rain, Music Man, The King and I...it goes on and on. Cary Grant movies, Places In the Heart with Sally Fields...oh, so many more. Love old hokey black and white films.
Favorite Music Hmmmm, I love music but when I sew I listen to audio books. But I guess I'd have to say softer music and most anything from Broadway Musicals.
Favorite Books The Bible, Everything by Jennifer Chiaverini (Elm Creek Quilt Series)...The Stand, The Shining, Fried Green Tomatoes, anything John Grisham and any really good mysteries. Oh, and I love good fantasy too.

You're trapped in a well with a goat and a slinky. Describe how you will escape.

I will hold the slinky and ride on my "Mountain Goat's" back as he scales the walls, taking us both to freedom. I will reward him with a wonderful treat, an old straw hat!!! Then shower and sit at the top of the stairs watching the slinky do what it does best, goes down stairs in a very entertaining way. Yup, that's it!
