| Introduction | Welcome to Mondesi's House! Written by a lifelong Pittsburgh sports fan, who gets to experience the highs of a Super Bowl championship and the lows of 15 consecutive years of losing baseball simultaneously. This site is dedicated to former Pittsburgh Pirate outfielder Raul Mondesi, and his brilliant scheme to find his way out of Pittsburgh in little more than a month in 2004. Often overshadowed by Derek Bell's infamous "Operation Shutdown" in 2002, the Mondesi signing gets much less attention than it deserves. I am here to fix that, and keep you posted on my musings of all things Pittsburgh. Steelers, Pirates, Penguins, and Panthers will be discussed on a regular basis. I'll also throw in some national sports topics, as well as some pop culture mentions, to round out your day. So as Raul would say, "acepto"! (or "welcome" to you Americans). |
