About me

Occupation Graduate Student
Location Carrboro, North Carolina
Introduction I love living in North Carolina, and being a graduate student is a pretty great life. My husband is a graduate student in Sociology and he and I spend a lot of hours reading, writing, and talking to each other about our ideas. We also make a lot of pots of tea, and have some wonderful friends to share meals with, some of whom live close and some of whom live far too far away. I enjoy teaching writing and literature to students at UNC-Chapel Hill, working with my dissertation director on our Writing in the Disciplines program, and researching and writing my dissertation on space, ethics, genre, gender, and popular scientific discourse. Talking to others who care about writing and who get excited by ideas is one of life's great pleasures. Reading a good novel, cooking and eating a good meal with good friends, and enjoying a good hike or a game of basketball are pretty high up there too.
