About me

Introduction I am a freelance writer and proof reader as well as a mum to three children - two girls and a boy. When I am not glued to my laptop, tackling washing or sorting out squabbles, I love finding a bargain. Therefore I love charity shops, jumble sales, NCT sales, garage sales and those little sales that cute kids in quaint villages hold outside their house, and you feel compelled to buy something, even if it is just some old tat. Car boot sales don't hold the key to my heart as much, but I think that's purely down to the fact I once got sun stroke at one...
Interests Pottering around charity shops(or Cherry Tree shops as my lovely mum and I fondly refer to them), vaguely learning to crochet (if you can't beat 'em, attempt to join 'em), making cards, buying chintzy crockery, beach huts, gypsy wagons, walking around the countryside with my husband, writing, chocolate, afternoon tea (been to The Ritz three times, it's fabulous dahling but just as happy having afternoon tea at home or in a garden centre. Wherever cake is, basically.
Favorite Movies Mary Poppins, The Sound of Music, The Wizard of Oz and Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory (the original with Gene Wilder). And to throw a random one in, Withnail & I. I think my husband and I have watched this around 100 times and we often quote it during silly times(especially "I think an afternoon at The Crow").
Favorite Books My all time fave is Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger, read it years ago and lost myself in it. Most of my books are from charity shops. Or the library. Why buy a new one? A well-thumbed book shows its popularity. Mind you, I don't like to think who read it before me, or where they read it. The toilet. A stranger. My mind boggles...
