Introduction Jason Alan Dewey was born in 1990 in Lincolnshire, and after a childhood of performing, now studies composition at Birmingham Conservatoire with Robin Grant. Taking some inspiration from Serialism, Jason is currently exploring chance music, music based on systems and noise as music. Sometimes described as philosophical, Jason’s music tends to be conceptual, usually exploring the more avant-garde areas of music. Recent works include a conceptual series based on the idea of recycling old sheet music to provide new sounds; several electronic pieces (available on his blog) and a string quartet written by chance.
