Introduction	Due to a virus infection at two I have a severe (60-80%) hearing impairment that has basically defined my life-options. I am "spaced-out" most of the time because I cannot catch most of what people are saying. I do not catch the jokes on TV, and I can only watch DVDs with subtitles. So I do not (or can not) work in an office. I am currently doing my PhD. But I have met the only man I could ever love, the most wonderful man in the world, and reader, I married him.
Interests	Reading, writing, critical theory, continental philosophy, psycho-analytic theory, science-fiction fantasy, crime fiction, knitting, spinning, quilting, sewing, painting, jewellery and bear-making, collecting and crafts.
Favorite Movies	Anything by Kurosawa, Clint Eastwood, westerns, science fiction, crime, I love CSI.
Favorite Music	Anything by Ella Fitzgerald, classic jazz.
