| Introduction | A skier, a sailor, a book-nerd and a math-lover, I teach 2nd and 3rd grade geography and tutor kids both after school and in the summertime. I love the group dynamics, the discussions and the hum of learning in the classroom almost as much as I love the magic of working with students one-on-one. In my tutoring practice, I am able to give kids new access to strategies, growth, confidence and success. To my way of thinking, there're nothing better than that. This blog has grown out of my promise to read at least three children's books a week. From picture books to young adult novels, I'm building up my repertoire so that I can point kids towards books that will transport, amuse and delight them. Here I'll share thoughts on good reads, learning, education, strategies and kids. Other bits of my life may sneak in there too. Who knows; I'm just beginning! |
