Introduction Alex Epstein is a screenwriter for television and movies, and an author of two books on screenwriting. He co-created the comedy series Naked Josh; he’s been nominated twice for a Canadian Screenwriting Award for his work on the show. He was Head Writer on the SF series Charlie Jade. He worked on the bilingual cop comedy Bon Cop Bad Cop. He began his career in LA, where he helped develop and produce many independent films and worked with directors such as Richard Attenborough and John Badham. Epstein got his MFA at UCLA's School of Film and Television. He has his B.A. magna cum laude from Yale College in Computer Science and English. He’s written two books, Crafty Screenwriting: Writing Movies That Get Made (2002), and Crafty TV Writing: Thinking Inside the Box (2006). Epstein lives in Montréal’s Old Port with his wife (author of The Intrepid Art Collector) two kids, and a usually shaggy dog. He is currently developing various new series for TV.
