Introduction	The Center for Environment and Society (CES) promotes the integration of environmental and social values and explores the reciprocal relationship between humankind and the natural world – past, present, and future – through interdisciplinary learning, research, and exemplary stewardship of natural and cultural resources. CES stakeholders are the students, faculty and staff of Washington College, as well as the communities in which they live and study. The work of the Center serves as a national model to others seeking to promote exemplary stewardship of natural and cultural resources.
