Introduction	I've started this blog hoping that it would help me deal with the fact that I'm turning 40 this year (update: I've just turned 40!) . I survived a 12-year journey through infertility and thought nothing could freak me out anymore. But I was wrong! So wrong! Besides having to come to terms with wrinkles & menopause creeping round the corner, I fight a daily battle with fibrocystic breast disease. A survivor? Damn right I am! The love of my life, my IVF-boy, better known as the "tasmanian devil", is a gorgeous, bright, funny 7-year old future hunk & heartthrob. He's the Brad Pitt of his school and the sunshine of my life. I'm very lucky to be earning money from doing one of the things I enjoy most in life - teaching! And any free time I have left over is completely devoted to my volunteer work with the Portuguese Fertility Association (Associação Portuguesa de Fertilidade), where I'm the national coordinator of a network of support groups.
