Communion of Glitches

About me

Introduction The Apostle's Creed declares a belief in the "Communion of Saints". This community is based on Paul's letter to the Corinthians (1 Corinthians 12 if you're following along in your Bible), in which Paul says that all believers are members of the body of Christ. Lovely. But the word "saint" has such a heavy connotation. Rather than calling anyone who believes in God and is consecrated to Him/Her a saint, many churchy people think of a saint as an exceptionally good or holy person. If this is the case, where are the rest of us when it comes to that communion? I believe in the Communion of All People, no matter how cracked or broken or warped we are. Instead of bemoaning the glitches in a perfect world, perhaps it's time we celebrated and took our place in the Body of Christ.
