Introduction | Indigenous Turtle Islander (ITI), Indn; an American Indian (but not PC "Native American" if it's avoidable). Lifelong Indn Rights & Traditional Spiritual Ways slave laborer. Shameless readaholic & learning sponge. Independent thinker - my 4 Favorite Questions are: Why, Why Not, What's REALLY Going On Here, and Who/What is Thinking for You in This Situation? Sun Dancer; in Lakota it is said of me, "Channunpa yuha wamani ye" - "I walk with a Channunpa", the Holy Pipe that is central to our worship ways. Bcs of the belief of Elders of my Nation that I 'fit the profile', I am the woman who Sun Dances The Prayer of The Four Winds, a prayer to heal the Sacred Hoop of the world. I thought I am too much a warrior at heart to be that person, & too little a diplomat, but the Elders who came to me about this said, "If we had wanted a diplomat, we wouldn't have come to you!" Thus I Dance, & will until I die. It is not a road for the faint of heart or for a wannabe of any kind. We are each either part of the solution or part of the problem. Fence-sitting is not an option. |
Interests | Keeping Indn languages & Traditional Ways alive; hunting; photography; writing; beadwork; creating wide variety of things, including culturally-appropriate Indn businesses; eliminating bigotry through education & occasionally through sarcasm and satire; the environment; solar power & other 'alternative' energy sources; auto mechanics with an eye to better mileage with power; building; animals; good debate; sticking my thumb in the eye of political correctitude, usually with a smile.. |
