Book release 9/29/20: Facing Death: Finding Dignity, Hope and Healing at the End. Interested in aging and advocacy for those unable to speak for themselves; in the ethics of autonomy and how that plays out in nursing homes and assisted care; in creating systems to help the frail elderly avoid unnecessary and unwanted interventions; in finding ways to document DNR wishes so that unwanted CPR is avoided. I give frequent talks in the community about personal experiences using stories from my experiences with patients to illustrate the complexities of making our values known and respected. |
