| Introduction | "Reading gives us someplace to go when we have to stay where we are." -Mason Cooley. This blog was born after talking to my future cuñado (brother-in-law) about "staycations" and not being able to travel as much as I'd like, hence, the "Bookcation blog" was born. The Kiki part is thanks to my sister, who calls me Kiki. I'm a teacher at a Bilingual school and mother of two; a son who loves to read and a daughter who occasionally reads. I always think I could be reading instead of whatever else I am doing at that moment. I love to read, being surrounded by books and people who share this passion. My other passion is visiting and attending author events at my local independent book store, Books and Books in Coral Gables, Florida. Oh! And by the way, gracias, thank you Jim for helping me come up with this creative outlet. I have been enjoying my "staycations" a lot more! |
