About me

Gender Male
Occupation Retired former teacher librarian
Location Richmond, California, United States
Introduction I am a life-long teacher (mostly at the high school level) and have lived all my life in California. Moved to the SF Bay Area in 1984 from L.A. My Mom (b. 1916) passed away in 2013 but my Dad (b. 1920) is still alive and I have a brother and 3 sisters. Although I was a school librarian my undergraduate degree is in biology. I retired in 2012 from the Tamalpais UHSD in Marin. I've traveled in Europe, Africa and Asia and spend a lot of time in Bali where my boyfriend lives. One of my sisters has lived in Java since 1991. I've attended the International Association of School Librarianship Conference several times since 2001 (New Zealand, South Africa, Ireland, Portugal, Taiwan, U.S., Qatar, Bali, and Maastricht). I am currently the SIG Coordinator for information Literacy for IASL, president of the California School Library Foundation, and vice-president of Friends of the Oakland Public School Libraries.
