Introduction My name is Jason and I am a 34-year-old Canadian English instructor. I have been living and teaching in South Korea since March, 2005. This blog is about how I see life in Korea, and Korean culture. I will post pictures and video as often as possible. I will also write about Korean novels and movies.
Interests Taking pictures and blogging; occasional clubbing and partying; seeing new parts of Korea; reading about the history and culture of Korea; doing research and writing on sexuality and gender for my future Master's Degree; trying to work out; hiking the mountains in Korea; creating crazy English lessons for my students to have fun learning English; meeting new people, making new friends .
Favorite Movies The Matrix, Stage Beauty, Wilde, Dangerous Beauty, Shakespeare movies, Sci-fi and Fantasy, Action-war movies, . . . . I generally watch a lot of movies of different genres. It's definitely a passion of mine.
Favorite Music high-energy dance; classical: opera, orchestral, choral; jazz; my favourite dj's are DJ Carl Cox and DJ Tiesto; favourite composers: Mozart, Palestrina, Tallis; Enya; Enigma; Bryn Terfel, Charlotte Church, Josh Groban; some hip-hop and rap; trance, jungle, breakbeats, drumnbass, and mixes of all house . . .
Favorite Books "Undoing Gender" by Judith Bulter, 2004; "Virtual Gender: fantasies of subjectivity and embodiment" editors Mary Ann O'Farell and Lynne Vallone; Oscar Wilde Anthology; "Emotional Alchemy" by Dr Tara Bennett-Coleman; "Self-matters, " "Life Strategies, " and "Relationship Rescue" by Dr Phil (I don't agree with everything he says, nor his politics, but he has a lot of good ideas); George RR Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" fantasy series; Shakespeare plays: Hamlet, Othello, and Richard II; Kama Sutra; "Whores and Other Feminists" anthology of essays written by Feminist Sexworkers, editor Jill Nagle; "The End of Gay (and the death of heterosexuality)" by Bert Archer; "Memoirs of a Geisha" translated by Arthur Golden . . .. . and the list goes on . . . .

When is the last time you felt joy?
