| Introduction | Brian is a writer and a filmmaker who spends much more time than you could possibly suspect smelling more than three perfumes at a time. He is the author of the novel Troublemaker (St. Martin's Press) and co-editor of the film anthology Life As We Show It (City Lights Books). His film series, WOMAN'S PICTURE, focuses on the stories of central female characters and was launched in 2011. He collaborates with perfumer Andy Tauer on Tableau de Parfums, a line of fragrances inspired by the characters of the WOMAN'S PICTURE series. Those films and fragrances can be found at evelynavenue.com, as well as Luckyscent.com and various other perfume outlets, on and off line. The first fragrance of the line, Miriam, was released in 2011 along with a short film of the same name featuring Ann Magnuson. Loretta, a second fragrance, will be released in October of 2012. He's currently working on a feature film, part of the WOMAN'S PICTURE series, called ONLY CHILD, featuring Grace Zabriskie. Ingrid, the third Tableau fragrance, is set for release in October of 2013. The WOMAN'S PICTURE and Tableau de Parfums project was awarded a Creative Capital grant in 2012 for film and visual arts. |
