Occupation Rabbi
Location St. Simons Island, GA, United States
Introduction I am both the 1st female to serve Brunswick, GA & resident rabbi in 50 years. I grew up outside Boston with my awesome family. I have a BA from Boston College in Human Development & Psych. BC is a Catholic school, so I connected to Jewish community as a youth group advisor. I loved the work so off to grad & rabbi school I went. (Master's in Human Development from Harvard & then Hebrew Union College) I stayed in Jerusalem after my 1st year to study at Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies, a liberal Ortho Yeshiva. I took some time out 1st to hike the Appalachian Trail. Why not. While in school, I ran a Soup Kitchen, was the student rabbi at the Hebrew Association for the Deaf & at Brooklyn Heights Synagogue, worked as a chaplain for Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center & Mount Sinai. I was a student chaplain in the US Navy & a pastry chef at Mara's Homemade. 2010, I was ordained & went to The Temple in Atlanta for 3 years as The Rabbi for Open Jewish Project, enriching & invigorating young Jews. I also tried educating the Atl Jewish community about Human Trafficking. I am now the Rabbi for Temple Beth Tefilloh & could not be happier with my partner Dan & our 2 dogs, Safi & Zooey.

What one thing would you change if change were not so hard?
