Introduction Court was born and raised in a small industrial town in northwestern Pennsylvania. After finishing high school, Court went on to Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, where he met his future wife, Brooke Copeland Rosen. After college, Court moved to northern Virginia, where he worked in the communications field on Capital Hill for former Congressman Bob Clement of Tennessee and Senator Evan Bayh of Indiana, as well as for a trade association representing pharmaceutical researchers and manufacturers. Court and Brooke moved to Roanoke in 2005 to be closer to Brooke's family, who are spread out across the region. Currently, Brooke practices commercial law with the Roanoke law firm of Gentry Locke Rakes & Moore and Court is a principal with Walnut Creek Development Group, a residential real estate development firm. Court was elected to Roanoke City Council in May 2008.
