| Introduction | Hi! My husband gave me the name Blondie a long time ago & it has stuck :) I am a Midwestern girl and now live in a quiet & beautiful neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago. I adore my husband and four children, two boys, two girls. I enjoy gardening, reading, cooking, antiquing, decorating, and sitting on the beach. I love decorating in a cottage sort of style but it's fun to mix it up a little. I go with instinct. I currently work writing columns for newspapers. I love creating essays about life in the city and country. And I've enjoyed blogging about the same for 14 years. We have a year round home in the country on a lake in Southwest Michigan where I am always busy renovating, decorating, cooking, entertaining & relaxing. We also have a little place in the mountains of North Carolina. Life is good. I hope you will follow along on my adventures! |

| Favorite Music | Love the Top 40's---sort of embarrassing but you can usually hear me belting out songs along with the radio in my car. Also love music I grew up with; Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, James Taylor, The Eagles...the list goes on. |
| Favorite Books | Eat Pray Love, Pippi in the South Seas, Confessions of a Shopaholic, Jane Eyre, Mrs. Piggle Wiggle's Magic, Secret Garden, Irish Girls About Town, The Merry Recluse...just too any to mention and the list grows. I really love decorating, gardening and cookbooks. Magazines satisfy my yearning for a quick fix of information. :) |
