| Introduction | I am a self-taught potter. I only fire with wood and have a deep love for the process and the resulting treasures each firing brings. My area of interest is in the Old Edgefield style of pottery which was an ash-glazed stoneware produced throughout the Nineteenth Century in the Old Edgefield District of SC. I seek to re-create the beauty of these simple utilitarian vessels.It is extremely hard work producing this type of stoneware pottery and firing with wood. It is a labor of love for me and I hope you see and feel it in my work. I am proud to continue this uniquely southern tradition after being lost to the area of its origin for some 100 years. |
