| Introduction | I am a mixed media artist and creative writer. I am thankful to God for blessing me with these gifts. I have always loved drawing and sketching and writing. I began my journey of artistic discovery, when I started making cards. At that time there were very few products for card-making. A few years later, I was introduced to scrapbooking by my friend Carole. I was not immediately drawn into scrapbooking but I started using scrapbooking materials in the creation of my cards. That opened up a whole new world of creativity for me in that now I had paper, inks, paint, dies, punches and so much more to use. I bought my first camera just before I went to Paris. On this trip to Paris, I discovered that I loved to take pictures. I used the pictures to start scrapbooking. Now I use photos, writing, paper, paints, dies, punches, fabric and more as a mixed media artist to create cards, scrapbook layouts, mini scrapbooks and artwork. I am a big fan of Tim Holtz and distress inks are my "go to" inks. Some of my other influences are Wendy Vecchi, Donna Downey, Melissa Frances, Debby Schuh, Teresa Collins and my friends Susan Leslie, Sheryl Baker and Carole. |
