| Introduction | For now I am a Casual Quilter but someday, when I retire from "work", I hope to be a Full Fledged one. I have been quilting and sewing for over 20 years. My first attempt at making a quilt was when I saw the quilts at my county fair and I thought... I could do that. The next year I entered a quilt in the Quilter's First Quilt category and I won 1st place. That quilt now hangs in my sewing room with the ribbon on it and reminds me of my mother and grandmother. When my grandmother couldn't see well enough to quilt anymore she gave me the scraps that I used in the quilt. I remember sitting with them and hand sewing the blocks while we talked. I enjoy designing my own quilt patterns just as much as making quilts! Sometimes I spend too much time playing with designs and when I see a fabric collection that I love, it's natural to start thinking of something to make with it. |
