| Introduction | We have been together 14 years, married 7.5 years. I work as an RN and Brock is a stay at home dad. We tried to start a family for 4 years. After 1 1/2 years of trying on our own and a LOT of tears and disappointment, we turned to a fertility specialist. We learned we had much bigger problems than we thought. We tried 3 rounds of IUI's and they all failed. We moved on to IVF in January 2009 and got pregnant with twins on the first try! Unfortunately we lost twin B at 9 weeks and after what seemed like a perfect pregnancy for months after that, we lost our beautiful baby girl, Addison, to a very unexpected and sudden cord accident at 32 weeks. She was a perfect angel. We tried a 2nd IVF cycle November 2009 but it was canceled when I didn't have any follicles respond to the stim meds. In January 2010 we jumped back in and tried again. We retrieved 2 eggs and only one of them fertilized. We were completely shocked that our little embryo was perfect and we were able to get pregnant again. Now we have another beautiful baby girl named Emily Addison. |
