About me

Gender Female
Location Brooklyn + Denver
Introduction I am a mother (to Otis and Theo), human-care-provider (to Omar the Rottweiler), loving wife, adoptee (when I was 26 days old), vegetarian (since I was 10), wildlife enthusiast, design junkie, amateur photographer, Ina-Garten obsessed cook, Heidi Swanson admirer, Yotam Ottolenghi fan, Mark Bittman-inspired, roof-top gardener, wanna-be kayaker, ice-shelf observer, conservationist, who loves chocolate and can't live with out limeade. I worked in a greenhouse and went to law school (one of those was much more enjoyable than the other). The purpose of this blog is to document and photograph the food we eat, our children growing and, on occasion, the places we travel-- both near and far. (I travelled about 1/3 of the globe before the kids, I hope to get back to explorations and adventures, um, soon!) I'm a 5th generation New Yorker who moved back to Brooklyn (slightly reluctantly) after spending six years in New Orleans. I dreamt of more space, a normal kitchen and a yard. And then we had a unique opportunity to relocate to Colorado...and we did! With a toddler, 6 week old and elderly Rott in tow, we picked up and moved. We've never looked back and we love living at 5280...
