| Introduction | From Killing Fields to Hanging Gardens - so started my life in Thailand... In 1980, I worked in a big refugee camp in Eastern Thailand for Cambodians fleeing Pol Pot's regime, who told us their horrific stories. By day we were somehow in Cambodia, even though safely on Thai ground, but in the evening we enjoyed Thai culture, and one of our favorite restaurants was nicknamed "Hanging Gardens”... After a long working life in Berlin (Germany) and some other countries I've now retired to Thailand and this blog... and a tip of the hat to "Mr D", who proofreads the English portion of the blog, making my English sound better than it actually is.
