| Introduction | I am the Episcopal Chaplain at Boston University; Denominational Counselor and Lecturer at Harvard Divinity School; and Adjunct at Episcopal Divinity School. I am passionate about the vibrant intersection of the church and the world-- that's the sacramental threshold where my ministry unfolds. I specialize in working with young adults, in doing advocacy for social justice and in exploring the theological dimensions of these ministries. My academic work centers on conceptions of embodiment in Christian Thought, constructions (particularly ambiguous and transformative) of sexual difference in the Study of Religion, and theories of sex, gender and sexuality. I'm a (critical) fan of both patristic (especially Greek) writings and contemporary Queer theology. I'm also increasingly interested in the intersections of trans and disability studies, and the roles of the arts and the aesthetic in general in theological discourse. I'm originally from the Bay Area but have lived in the Boston area since 1995 with my spouse of 23 years. We have two sons. |
