Interests | Family History Research, Reading, Writing, and Gardening. In March 2014, my first book was published by The History Press. Entitled The Juke Joint King of the Mississippi Hills: The Raucous Reign of Tillman Branch, the book tells the story of a true crime that occurred in Holmes County, MS, in the early 1960's. My second book, Mississippi Moonshine Politics: How Bootleggers and the Law Kept a Dry State Soaked (The History Press) will be released in March 2015. The new book chronicles state prohibition in Mississippi that began in 1908 and ended on July 1, 1966 when a local option law was passed by the state's lawmakers. |
