| Introduction | I have always been fascinated by the idea that you could create something from scratch. I thought my grandfather could fix anything. He grew up in the depression and I often found him in the workshop repairing this or that, when he wasn't in the garden or bouncing us on his knee, that is. My grandmother taught me how to sew, crochet, and many other crafts. My mother tried to teach me to paint and to cook. It was Little house on the Prairie that inspired me to make butter or cheese. The cheese failed as did my early gardening attempts. Still I continue to try new things. You have probably noticed I have caught the subscription box bug. I'm not sure how it fits into my values but I guess everyone likes presents, even if they have to pay for them themselves. |
