About me

Introduction I am a passionate believer in the importance of being able to feed ourselves healthy, organic, whole food. I received my Permaculture Design Certification through the Vermont Wilderness School in 2011 and am actively implementing the principles of Permaculture Design on our farm. We also heavily rely on the principles of companion planting, we believe in and use Joel Salatin's ideas, and feel that preserving biodiversity is critical. To that end, all of the plants and animals we grow or raise on the farm are heirloom/heritage varieties/breeds. I was raised on organic gardening: my mother was an organic gardener before there was a name for it. I hope to continue and expand on her legacy. I have also been fascinated with creating textiles for as long as I can remember. I've been a handspinner, weaver, and knitter for over 20 years and have had the good fortune to be able to learn from some of the most talented people around. I enjoy using traditional techniques to create contemporary textiles that are relevant to people living in today's world and, in doing so, hope to foster an appreciation for the crafts and for those who practiced them before us.
