| Introduction | I'm a 6-decade-old woman, single mom, graphic artist & former teacher who is also trans. I've worked with organizations who do media activism. For several years I was the facilitator for one of the nation's only support groups for trans parents and was involved with an inter-generational filmmaking project for LGBTQ peeps. I've been called, "a bitter 50 something post op who maybe, just maybe, has some image issues." FYI, "Skip the Makeup" is in reference to the tired media cliche of always showing trans women putting on makeup (or lingerie) in virtually any story done about MTF trans issues.
