| Introduction | I love world cinema, especially contemporary European, Latin American and Asian art-house films that are slow-paced, contemplative and are more concerned with mood and emotion than with plot. Films that are sparse in dialogue and explore the inner worlds of the characters. Actors who can effortlessly express their character's thoughts and feelings with silences and gestures. Stories that are presented visually but allow us the freedom for subjective interpretation. Characters in whom we recognise aspects of ourselves and remember being them. |
