Introduction	Tozan is a "dharma name." in a language fraught with homonyms. It can mean "going on foot" - "on a hillside" - "pilgrimage" - "mountaineering." It is also the Japanese name for Tung-Shan Liang-Shieh, the Chinese master who, as founding patriarch of the Soto lineage, formulated the Five Degrees of Enlightenment.

Favorite Movies	No enduring favorite. They seem to get better and better as time goes by.
Favorite Music	Under constant revision, but the choral music of Eric Whitacre, the Sibelius, Prokofiev and Shostakovich symphonies and much of Bela Bartok are perennially on the list - plus nearly all of jazz from trad to fusion
