Introduction | Joe Essid teaches writing at the University of Richmond. more than two decades ago, he married a country girl and began to move beyond his experience with hunting, environmental activism, and gardening to managing rural land and using farm equipment. He now lives on 11 acres in Goochland County, VA, to run a small LLC producing food without pesticides, herbicides, or petrochemical fertilizers. He practices sustainable land management, keep bees and chickens, fools around with old tractors. He retains an urban DIY sensibility but is learning some rural humility along the way. |
