| Introduction | Far from being a wine master, sommelier or even wine snob, I'm simply someone who enjoys all the interesting aspects and options that flow from tasting - and drinking - wine. I do NOT have a sophisticated palate and CANNOT readily identify wild and crazy descriptors such as worn leather, morels, guava or lanolin. I wouldn't know if a wine features only grapes harvested under a full moon by vestal virgins or if the grapes were stomped by foot by fat, old farm-boys in big wooden vats. However, I do think that almost any occasion can be made better by having a glass of wine in hand. And, with any luck, there will be plenty of adventure and good times to be had with that glass - be it full of red, white, rose, sparkling, fortified or something else altogether. |
