Introduction I teach community organizing and philosophy of education at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I work closely with a local congregational action group on education issues, focusing currently on health and education. We recently succeeded in having four million dollar in new school nurses put in the state budget, and are currently working on a model for improving dental care. I am working with local organizing groups on a community organizing conference to introduce a range of Milwaukee residents to the tradition and skills of organizing. I coordinate our Certificate Program in Community Organizing and am department chair. I am also a published science fiction author and member of SFWA (Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America).
