Introduction Cindi, a writer, educator, and advocate, has told stories in spoken and written word, through photos, and in the classroom since she was a child. With over 20 years experience in the public, private, and home education settings, and a business background in publicity, she currently serves as an administrator and visiting teacher in a local non-site based charter school. Cindi shares the adventures of life with her husband, a fab yellow lab, and loved ones. They have friends living on the second floor of their home. Her heart beats for social justice, focused on educational equity, compassionate immigration reform. She is a SoCal resident, Ohio native, granddaughter of a Dutch immigrant, daughter of Dick and Jane, and middle child yet oldest. It was nothing short of a miracle that she completed degrees at Wheaton, Purdue, and Pepperdine. She is a community volunteer through her local church and World Relief.
Interests Always learning, reading, and writing. Wrestling with ideas, questions, and faith. Advocating for social justice. Looking for more time to travel, try new recipes, enjoy friends, be at home, snorkel, kayak, canoe, and camp the easy lazy way. Value servant leadership, good coffee, the environment, and afternoon naps. Continuing to improve improv comedy and satire skills, learning to speak Spanish, and growth in loving others.
Favorite Movies Too many to name.
Favorite Music Classical, jazz, reggae and steel drum, mariachi, latin, folk rock, jazz, classic rock, jazz, Gregorian chants, Christmas, jazz, choral and high church, swing and big band, 40's, and 80's. Oh, and recently added blue grass.
