Introduction | As a fledgling adult, I'm trying to figure out exactly what it is I want to do with myself. Currently I work at Joann Fabrics (which has been an experience!) and volunteer with Friends of the Cedar River Watershed (mostly data-entry stuff, but the organization itself restores and maintains the watershed).
My life drive is changing the way the environmental field is viewed, and integrating environmental practices with city life. I hope blogging about green crafting will help with that in some small way. I try to design all of my projects to be scalable. By that I mean a small business could take one of my ideas and make it work for them. The important factors to make something scalable (in my mind) are: cheap, easily attainable, raw material and minimal time/effort. I use everday waste materials that accumulate quickly (such as plastic bags or bottles). The creation process allows me to discover which projects are feasible time-wise. |
