Introduction | I'm a writer and this is my blog. Author of Till Roll (2018), published by Sam Riviere's If a Leaf Falls Press. I've appeared in Edge Hill University's Question Mark, Peter Barlow's Cigarette's Sampler #28, and Robert Sheppard's Pages. I've also had the pleasure of reading out at a number of events across the north of England. I'm currently working in a pub, but I'm looking for a job that utilises my skills[communication, proof reading, editing, creativity, content writing, proof reading, editing, creative collaboration etc] and inspires me. Hope you enjoy your stay and please feel free to comment. WARNING: MAY CONTAIN TRACES OF MISINFORMATION Thirsty for more? Then check out the other blog I contribute to: www.allhailtheale.com |
Interests | Writing, reading, blogging, making people laugh, badminton, football, drinking, gym, writing (again), socializing, consuming culture (going to readings/galleries, whatever really), trying to help, love etc. |
Favorite Movies | John Carpenter's The Thing, Taxi Driver, Goodfellas, Bubba Ho-Tep, Yellow Submarine, The Departed, Shutter Island, Scarface (old and new!), Coraline, The Singing Detective, Fistful of Dynamite (and lots of other Spaghetti westerns/westerns in general), Gladiator, Wild Things, King of Comedy, What Planet Are You From? and many more. In terms of TV, The Sopranos, Family Guy, Harry Hill's TV Burp, Flowers, Peep Show, Spaced, Have I Got News for You, anything Charlie Brooker-y etc. |
Favorite Music | I love Elvis, The Smiths, Paramore, Ren Harvieu - pretty much anything! Meat Loaf, Booker T and the MGs, The Beatles [and their constituent parts], Led Zeppelin, Steve Martin, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams (lots of country really), Dave Formula and more! If there's any music I don't tend to like, it's modern chart rubbish that sounds exactly the same as the last song that was on and has a similar pretentious video to it and I sound so weary don't I? |
Favorite Books | I love the Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy 'Trilogy in Five Parts', The Bell Jar and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (back from studying Literature at A Level), Cosa Nostra (non-fiction), Frank Freeman's Dancing School, Green Squall, Looking for Eric, American Psycho, Ragtime, The Bird Room, the 'Inspector Montalbano' series (Andrea Camilleri), Ginsberg, John Cooper Clarke, Plath, Larkin, Calum Kerr, David Vann, Adam Marek, Andrew Oldham, Bukowski, Palahniuk, Robert Sheppard, Neil Schiller, Jenny Barrett, Kurt Vonnegut, Laura Kirkbride, Anushre Nande, Melissa Lee Houghton, Jasmine Linklater, Caitlin Doherty, Ian Seed... so many more. Any books from Knives, Forks and Spoons Press, Ship of Fools, The Emma Press and more, y'know... |
Unlike a dog, how can a turtle ever be naked?
A shell, similar to but not exactly like a coat, is a state of mind. Become naked by filling your mind with nakedness. Eight out of ten people won't be able to tell the difference.
