| Introduction | I am geographer by education, with BA, MA, and Ph.D. degrees. My geography specialties include general physical geography, water resources, and geographic information systems (GIS). I currently work as a registrar and assistant to the academic dean at a seminary. Prior to this, I taught for seven years at a private liberal arts college here in the Midwest, as well as had worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (five years as a planner and GIS specialist and instructor) and a year with the North Dakota Department of Transportation (as a GIS specialist). I am also a licensed amateur radio (ham radio) operator, licensed as K9IUA. I am married (29 years as of January 2010), my wife is an ordained ELCA (Lutheran) pastor, and have three grown kids (the younger two are twins - I tried for zero population growth, but it wasn't meant to be). |
